As part of our regular company news, we wanted to introduce you to our safety program. In 2007, Durango Custom Works hired a safety consultant to help us implement a safety program. Our goals were to increase our on-site and in-shop safety awareness while also complying with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) regulations pertaining to the construction industry.

What we’ve come up with is a comprehensive safety program including a manual useful for instruction, establishing safety procedures and information gathering. Also included is an extensive MSDS (Material Data Safety Sheet) book for identifying hazards associated with the specialized materials we use in our business. This information is always available to our customers free of charge.

We have also made a commitment to safety training. We now have regularly scheduled safety meetings both on the job and in the shop for our employees and subcontractors. In addition to this less formal training, we have sent four employees to an OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training Program over the last thirteen months.

What does all this mean for the customer? A well implemented safety program promotes a cleaner and safer job-site with increased productivity, fewer injuries, and an all-around better work environment for you and our employees. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our safety program, please feel free to contact the manager, Jason Kaminsky.
