It’s time to schedule your fall maintenance projects

A home is many people’s single largest asset. It’s important that you take care of your property and keep it fully maintained in order to help avoid even more costly repairs in the future. For example, it’s much better to fix a roof leak immediately upon discovering it than to wait and allow a simple leak repair to turn into a more costly job involving structural repairs, insect damage, and mold mitigation. Together, we can come up with a list of items to monitor and maintain on a monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual basis. We are flexible, and consider your scheduling concerns a top priority. We’re eager to work with you whether you’re occupying the residence full or part-time and have nearly fifteen years of experience managing projects in La Plata County.

Please take a minute to check out Our Services page to see how we can help you to maintain and upgrade your home. We have many long-term clients in the Durango area, some dating back to our early days here in 2001.

Some of the things we recommend doing this time of year.

  • Turning on heat tapes and assessing freeze-risk for various facilities.
  • Turn-off and blow-out sprinkler systems and other potable water systems needing winterization.
  • Make sure you have someone lined up for winter snow removal, including decks, driveways, and roofs when necessary.
  • Have your HVAC system serviced. Be sure to have your filters changed and heating units serviced prior to the winter months to help prevent a cold-weather breakdown which could result in frozen pipes.
  • Consider automation or remote-monitoring. If your home is primarily unoccupied during certain times of the year, talk with us about ways to control and monitor different home systems for proper operation, potential leaks, and other issues during your absence. Sometimes, there’s nothing better than getting a set of eyes on a potential problem; we can schedule walk-throughs anytime you want a glimpse of what is happening at your property.

There’s that and a lot more to maintaining a large home with complex modern systems. Let’s talk about a program that works for your budget and schedule.
